Pavilion Homes was looking to create a pleasant viewing experience for display home visitors from day one.
- Sector: Residential
- Type: Single Dwelling
- Developer: ACT Land Development Agency
- Builder: Pavilion Homes
- Date: April 2010
- Location: Bonner, ACT
The Challenge: Build a quality display home within a tight timeframe and open to the public upon completion without strong paint fumes detracting from the experience of display home visitors.
Display home visitor experience is critical
The Solution: As a zero-VOC paint, ecolour won’t leave nasty toxic fumes, creating a much more enjoyable experience from day one with no toxic outgassing.
The Bonner Display Village was designed to showcase sustainable building technologies. The developer, the ACT Land Development Agency specified that low VOC paints were to be used in the village. Pavilion Homes decided to go one better and use zero VOC, carbon neutral ecolour paint. This provided:
- High quality of finish
- Additional interest generated in the Pavilion display home, especially potential buyers with young children and/or breathing problems (e.g. asthma)
- No toxic fumes – a much more enjoyable experience for display home visitors
- Alignment with the display village sustainability theme
Superior Display Home Visitor Experience
“We were very impressed with the quality of Ecolour paints. After over 20 years in the building industry, there aren’t too many exciting new developments that come along. But Ecolour provides such an enhancement to the experience our clients have when moving into their new homes. Knowing that we are looking after the health of our tradesmen and people living in our homes and staying ahead of the OHS legislation is also a big bonus.”
Boris Planinac, General Manager – Pavilion Homes
